The Harmonica Blowers

  John Nemeth   Harmonica, Vocals
John Nemeth is one of the hottest young traditional R&B singers. When asked about John, Charlie Musslewhite states, "Boy! John Nemeth can really belt it out!" Bob Margolin, former guitarist for Muddy Waters, claims, "John Nemeth is a natural-born Bluesman, and he proves it with every note he sings, shaping each one with emotion, taste and inspiration. John's expressive Blues harp playing answers his voice and fulfills his songs when he solos. John Nemeth makes it sound easy."

Chris Condie says, "Of the blues vocalists alive today, John is easily my favorite! In my opinion, there are few who can keep up with him. On top of a great voice, John is a master on the harmonica and one heck of an entertainer--every night he performs, he gives it 110%. See him now, so you can say you saw him before he was famous."

His decade long career has found him opening for Robert Cray, Keb Mo', James Harman, and Earl Thomas. He has toured the U.S., Canada, and Scandinavia as a featured artist with The Junior Watson Band. Nemeth has also shared the stage with a number of the country's top blues acts. He is considered a topnotch harp blower and has been invited to many harmonica head-cutting contests around the country.

Rick Anderson   Harmonica, Vocals
Former harmonica player for the now defunct local blues band, The Tempo Timers, Rick Anderson, a California transplant, used to tear it up on stage with the best national harp players around. The stuff of folklore, it is true, Rick Anderson is the best blues harmonica player in Utah! Rick has great tone as well as traditional phrasing that does blues harp proud.

Rick doesn't play live much at all--if ever! So, it's highly recommend you take the chance to see him live while you can. Chris Condie admits, "I've only heard Rick play live a couple of times. But that was enough to know the guy was a true professional. I was fortunate enough to sit down with him and spin some records. He showed me a few tricks, and I've always been dying to see him play live again. I'm excited to finally get my chance!"

Chris Condie   Harmonica, Vocals
A staple of the Salt Lake blues scene for the last six years, Chris Condie has been fronting his own band, Uptown Hustlers for the last four years. Chris embraces the upbeat, dynamic sound of West Coast Blues, and pulls out Chicago style gems every now and again. In 1999, Chris Condie was selected as "The Best Harmonica Player in Utah" by Hohner Harmonicas and Mars Music.

In addition to playing local blues festivals, regional clubs, and the Stipanovich wedding, Chris has recorded for television and radio commercials, and appears as a guest musician on a few recordings by local musicians.

About Chris Condie, Chris Condie says, "Don't miss your chance to see John Nemeth and Rick Anderson! These guys are great, and they are going to make me look like a silly little man!"

Junior Watson   Guitar, Vocals
"Junior Watson is simply my favorite blues guitarist!" says Chris Condie. "It is truly an honor to have him on the bill for my second Blues Harmonica Blow Out! Fans of Junior Watson know they're in for a great time when he's in town. For those of you who haven't seen him, you're in for a treat! Junior's probably going to steal the show, and I'm excited to see it happen!"

With nearly thirty years of experience, Junior Watson has reached cult status. Junior has done what all great artists have done: melting diverse styles to create a style all his own. He has truly created one of the most unique and original guitar voices to come along in years. Besides his mastery of blues and swing he often adds his own cartoon-like twist to everything he plays. You'll never know what he will do and when asked he doesn't know himself.

His resume is as large as it is impressive. A founding member of The Mighty Flyers he stayed with the band for ten years. He then left to join Canned Heat for ten years. He then toured for a while with LA-based harmonica player/vocalist Lynwood Slim. All along the way he has backed up and recorded with the "Who's-Who of the Blues." His list of musical endeavors include backing up and recording with Big Mama Thorton, George Smith, Jimmy Rogers, Shakey Jake, Luther Tucker, Charlie Musselwhite, Kim Wilson, William Clark and there's more. Suffice to say the list is very extensive.

Vance Ehlers    Bass
Vance Ehlers has been a part of some of the best blues music in the business playing as a member of Little Charlie & The Nightcats, Indigo Swing, and The Junior Watson Band to name a few.

Anton Craig    Drums
Anton has played with the John Nemeth Band for many years. "In my opinion," says Chris Condie, "Anton's got one of the sweetest shuffles around! I love to see him perform, and am excited to get a chance to play with him."
